Default Glide-Pro break-in

Just installed the Glide-Pro swingarm bushings and front motor mount, and did Jake’s laser alignment; my fairing doesn't shake violently anymore but the vibes in the seat, footboards, and handgrips are intolerable. Is this vibration really going to subside after the 500 mile break-in. If you have this system installed, did the vibes really get better with time or did you just get used to it? Thanks

I have had it for 15000 miles or so now and works fine. I think odds are that you will get used to it more than the odds of the vibration subsiding. Think of it as a BMW rider saying the same thing the first time they get on a harley.

It will vibrate more as the bushings are much stiffer - which is the effective part that reduces the speed-wobbles. Give a little, get a little, just how it is.
Besides, your girlfriend will like the ride that much more!

I only installed the axle and "No" the vibrations didn't subside in time - at least not for me. If it is the wobble you are trying to get rid of, that also didn't go away entirely. The wobble on my bike (the '08 RKC) now comes in at a higher speed where it can do some real damage. Maybe with both the motor mount and the axle it would help.

I had the Glide-Pro installed by my local HD dealer, Fort Worth HD, bushings and motor mount. There was no noticable increase in vibration and the fairing no longer vibrates. I grew up riding old Triumphs, Nortons, 850 Royal Enfield twins and BMWs so I may not notice it as much. I would give Jake a call.

I put the bushings and mm in before a xcountry trip last summer, it vibrated at first in the floorboards but after a couple hundred miles, now a few thousand I dont notice it anymore. Going to do the laser alignment next to verify everything is right on.

Thanks to all for the feedback. I called Jake, He said to barely loosen all three front motor mount bolts and drive it around the block so the mount can self center, tightent the two outside mount bolts to spec, then torque the main mount bolt to 10ftlb. He assured me this will make the vibes go away. I've been so focused on the vibes I can't say if there is an improvement in handling.

that makes sense to ride it while the bolts are a bit loose, allowing the motor mount to find its comfortable place to sit, then tightening it in place. this is useful information, thanks.

I just did the laser alignment but saved some money and steps since I didn't have a MC scissor jack by just using blocks w a strip of metal (so brace doesn't sink in wood) to level bike and then didn't need angle iron, blocks etc. on the rotors since the lasers would shoot by the blocks. I raised the bike w MC jack and then put blocks in under the back brace then removed the jack. I spent $31 on Amazon for this digital laser level w magnetic base and borrowed my neighbors reg. magnetic laser level and it worked for me, hope this helps. I'll put this up as a DIY.

I put eglide system in last month. Vibration went way down. Cornering performance also real tight. If it still is vibrating too much call them back. The front to back adjustment may need adjusted also.

gmc,
That's cool, I did almost the same thing but I made my stand out of wood, shimmed underneath with paper to get level across the frame rails. Also able to shoot the laser past the block without the need for standoffs on the rotors. I sent Jake the same pics of my set up. The laser level I used is an Acculine pro about $50.00.
