Absolutely wouldn't change for anything else.I doubt I'll spring for cams like I originally planned to do this winter. It runs great for what I'm doing with it.I ran V&H Bigshot Duals on an '08 EGC that to me were actually louder thn the Fat Cat.I had invested in stereo, amp and speaker upgrades with no problems hearing or ears hurting and never used ear plugs. When I installed the Fat Cat on the Limited it took me 1 500 mile day to realize this thing was an eardrum buster. To me it's not the db level like I said the Bigshot duals seemed louder.I noticed on the Fat Cat there's a fairly high pitched tone(believe its the valve train resonating and magnified by the Fat Cat) that drove me nuts.I always wear a helmet and with the Limited, noise cancelling ear buds that filter out the Fat Cat and have a great sounding stereo.I've talked to a few others that have had the same experience and have even taken the Fat Cat off, many say it's not for a touring bike.Short rides no problem but in the saddle all day for me last summer several 500-800 and 1 1000 mile day without my ear buds would have been unbearable and spending big bucks on the stereo for me's a waste of money.

I have the D&D Fat Cat. I love how it sounds, but it DOES NOT (IMO) have a classic Harley rumble. It sounds more like a racing type exhaust. I guess that makes sense, given it is a good performer. It's not too loud for me, I rarely wear a helmet, but the wind is much harder on my ears than the pipe. When I do wear a helmet the pipe isn't loud at all. Sounds mean when you rip the throttle, and sets off car alarms at idle. Oh yeah! I've heard pipes that I like better, but I wouldn't trade the combination of sound and performance.

I would be interested in seeing the Dyno difference in a D&D Fatcat and FuelMoto's 2into1 Header with their PowerTube Muffler. I just installed a 2into1 Catless Head Pipe with Jamie's PowerTube Muffler. The seat of the pants dyno tells me there's a big difference compared to the 2into1to2 exhaust I had previous.

I had the regular fat cat on a 2008 Ultra. Performance was good, sounded like a metric. Not very loud in my IMO. I hated the rear jug pipe. I was constandly hitting my boot on it leaving a black mark on the pipe. It came off easily enough but what a pain. That rear jug pipe needs to be in closer to the motor.

Not as loud as V&H true duals. Mine sounds good. I assume "metric" means Jap bike. Mine sure doesn't sound like that!

I put the Boss Fat Cat on my SG and I'm currently shopping for a exhaust system that provides similar performance with a lot less sound. I agree with earlier posts that DandD has a great sound but it's an ear drum buster when your in the saddle for 300 to 500 miles. I really hate to get rid of it. I love the looks, quality and performance but...

I'm getting the same numbers with my jackpots, unless you up the displacement I don't think you would notice the gains from a 2-1. Just my opinion.
