I installed the Elf Audio E2125X (70 x 2 @ 4 Ohms) 2 channel amp into my Road Glide. I purchased this amp from Ebay over a year ago for $150.00 and it is still going strong. For speakers I installed Hertz HCX 165 (6.5) coaxial speakers. I am real happy with the setup. I was lucky to find these speakers on Ebay new for $150.00. I wear a full face helmet (Arai) and while riding down the highway at 70mph I can hear the music at half volume on the HK head unit. I am a member over at www.diymobileaudio.com were they did a comparison between this amp and the ARC audio 125.2. Here is the link for the comparison: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/...guts-pics.html. Right now you can buy the Elf Audio on Ebay for $200.00 or make an offer.
I am no stranger to car audio since the 80s and I have over 4k invested in audio equipment my 2008 Tacoma. I have had no problems with this amp and it was very easy to install in my Road Glide, the hardest part was routing the power wire under the gas tank. For the cost of this amp, I highly recommend it even at $200.00.
I also have the Elf audio in my of flhtc ,was told by other members it is the same amp as arc audio and cost was $180,I have titan 6.5 speakers with a tweeter pod and an Alpine head unit and this thing really cranks. If you look at the specs of both amps they are almost identical for half the price.
Yep, I agree about the mini...either the ARC or ELF. Sometimes the ARC can be found cheap if you don't mind buying from Ebay or Audio forums.
I have mine matched up with a set of Boston Pro50se (I will be going to 60s soon). To me a great speaker for our motorcycle. Can handle lots of power, draws a 3ohm load, axis mount tweeter, tweeter is not harsh at all and can definitely get loud when needed. Just set-up your amp properly.
Oh, BTW...I've been a modest audiophile nut for a while now too. At one time, I had about 10k wrapped up in a HT set-up and about 6-7k set-up in my last truck...FWIW.
Can't go wrong with the ARC mini amp with a good set of 6.5 inch speaker. You can find a nice set of 6.5 inch speakers with adapters used for under $100.00.
I am running an Arc 125.2 mini with the 4 in the face setup, 6.5 in the fairing and 5.25 in the lowers @ 2 ohms both are Arc speakers and it rocks. i thought about going cheap and then i said i have a 25 k scooter and then i said no reason to cheap out now. I am very pleased with what i have. It cost about 600.00 bucks. jd
I was thinking about an Alpine head unit and infinity speakers in the fairing and lower fairings. I too am looking for an amp. I would like to find something that is plug and play. I want to avoid cutting my oem wiring if possible. Do you have any advice???

Why would you have to cut your OEM wiring? If you go with one of the minis mentioned here and an Alpine HU...there's no need to cut OEM wiring.
the Arc can be either , its how you wire it and what your speakers are rated, in my set up the Arc speakers are 4 ohms but i have them wired in parallel so they become 2 ohm speakers. When you do this the Amp now is rated @ 125 watts per channel. jd
