I can't see the point of spending $$$ to blast megawatts out of multiple orifices on my bike when $50 helmet speakers and an iPod will suffice.

+1. I've never gotten into tunes on the bike and don't plan to start now. I prefer to hear whats going on around me.

That's no lie! I do wear ear plugs when out on the road to cut down on the wind blast, but don't care for no tunes. I see you're from Norfolk, NE. I was born there 73 years ago.

Safety. I agree. That's why I don't wear headphones/earbuds. Speakers only. Unles you abuse the volume **** you don't have any problem hearing what's going on around you.

Aren't headphones/earbuds illegal in an automobile? If they are why wouldn't that apply to a motorcycle? My guess is helmet speakers are legal because they don't totally exclude other outside sounds.

I must say that with the added noise of a stereo you are much more likely to be seen and heard above and beyond just your exhasut. The J&M speakers also have volume controls on the left speaker so you can adjsut them while riding very easily.

I'm happy with the iPod and skull candy head phones. As mentioned earlier music set at a moderate level I can still hear the bike and all that is going on around me without the wind noise beating up my ears.

Default was in thew same spot

I was in the same spot a few months back. was happy with the earbuds, but wondered what it would be like with the whole package. Even went as far as to buy a fairing and test fit it. once i did it was an easy decision for me. i sold it about a week later.

for me it wasn't only the 2 g's for paint and audio equipment. i know i would want new bars soon after. and that means more $$$$.

then there was the look. bike just didn't look right to me with a fairing on it.

so i will continue to use my $30 ear buds, and ipod.
