Took the Ultra for nice brisk Festivus ride today. Parked at a local eatery. Came out to find my right side antenna laying across my saddle. Looks to be a small scar on the rubber molding around the antenna mount, and a small scar on the running lights.
Damn it!!
The antenna had enough bite to put back on the mount for the ride home, but it'll need to be replaced. Anyone got an idea how to buff a running light and possibly rub out the scaring on the molding?
Your bike fell over? Somebody picked it up for you and put the pieces on your seat?
Sorry about your damages. Life sucks some times, but be glad you had the opportunity to get out and get some miles under you. Many don't. It'll cost ya some green and time to get it back to the way it was...but things could be much worse.
If it's not into the clearcoat, you can use any good cleaner wax. I use Mequiars Cleaner wax myself for scuffs on my bag lids and rubs on the gas tank and such. Do you have the stock long antenna's? That's the first thing I changed when I bought my 08 UC for that very reason. when you lay the bike over on the jiffy stand. they stick out a ways.
Bike did not go down. Not possible. It was parked between several other bikes that would have been effected. It was my belief that someone backed into it, maybe a pick up with a down tail gate. There were several in the parking lot when we got there.
Dude........That sucks! I have used the Harley scratch remover to get some really deep stuff out, I used a old sock over my hand and just kept rubbing. Worked good. Hope it'll work for you. Sucks! Any chance that place has a security cam on the parking lot? I'd be looking for someone's A$$ if that happened to my Ultra....
