Cool offset wheel

could somebody tell me why some rear tires on touring bikes are offset and others are not.my 06 rk custom is offset to the left inside of fender.

It's according to whether you have the narrow or wide pulley.

now i am really confused, but that would make sense. does the pully width vary becouse of the year ive gotten 3 diiferent answers now

Later bikes have a narrow pulley and also a wider wheel. What size rear tyre does your Custom have? Stock on many models of that period were 140/MT tyres on 3" rims.
