I'm taking the same route. Waiting on a backorder right now. Had the combo on my Fatboy, and didn't like taking my eyes off the road.

Not yet... but it's on my short list of options to get a tach on the bike.

How does this set-up impact the windshield?

Best

No impact whatsoever, plenty of clearance.

I put one of these on the Fat Bob I had. It will also fit your Road King.

Attached are some pictures of what it looks like on the Fat Bob.

I've got the same on my bike and the windshield clears fine. My concern is that I'm debating on a fairing setup and I know the tach will have to go in order to accommodate a fairing.

I wanted a tach on my Road King also and was going with a after market fairing. I found this faring that was designed with a 2 inch gauge hole between the radio and windshield.

Here are some pics of schv's set up. He says you can still fit the windshield on but NO windshield bag.

several styles from nostalgic theme to digital. Backlight has several color options on the nostalgic one that I had on my rkc. Looks factory placed and is functional, plus rkc needs to look classic imho. If you can see the speedometer than I am not sure how you can't see the tach as well in this setup. It costs msrp around 500 bucks so its not cheap though. But, I forgot to mention that the dealer can set the odometer correctly to match mileage that already exists as well.
