Never gave it much thought but I do mount from the right. Guess from where I park the bike in the stable its always been easier to mount from that side, plus easier to access that saddlebag since its positioned better for entry. OL also mounts from the left making it easier for me to stage on the right...

im 6'4'' and the right side is the way to go
just slide your leg over the seat,my knees dont bend like they did 20 years ago

Older, less flexible, right side mostly,I do not use floor boards, too heavy.

Kidding aside, if the circumstances or terrain necessitates at 6' no problem, otherwise left always.

Always from the left, til an old man at a truck stop showed me how to get on from the right properly. Handlebars to the far left, grab front brake, step onto floorboard and stand up. Easy swing for the left leg then........ I still get on from the left mostly but it's good to know how to do it the other way.

used to be either side and mostly from the right, but now that I have a backrest, I always mount from the left.
