I had a 2010 Road King and as stated it has the catalytic converter. I put a set of $585 Rineharts on it and the sound was wimpy and I was disappointed. Not because of the mufflers, because of the cat. converter (I heard the same mufflers on an '09 and they sounded good). To get decent sound from any type of slip-on, the cat. converter must go.
It's expensive if you have to buy new headpipes (the converter is in the headpipe), so may want to consider having the cat. converter material removed. You could go to a local bike shop, weld shop or machine shop and have them cut the headpipe, remove the cat. material and re-weld. Then install the slip-ons of your choice and enjoy the music coming from the exhaust pipes.
My 2 cents - good luck in whatever option you choose.
Supertrapp se series for 2010 and 2011 bikes sounds very nice. Nice deep rumble. go to the Supertrapp web site and they have some sound bytes. I have them (actually I have SE 65115-10 bodies with se series baffles 021-6517) Very healthy sounding and with this set up nothing else is needed.
