Ohlin #3-3 from Motorcycle Metal on my 06 Street Glide, very nice ride, tunable, rebuildable. Fantasic customer service from Howard and a considerable discount for members.
Gotta say i've been more than happy with my Works Steel trackers. The ease of adjustng the ride, matter of taking the bags off and turning it by hand. When i purchased these i wanted a good touring shock (loaded bike) two up, and when i'm alone i can still have something good for the twisties
Shocks are a bit like oil on HDF! There is no way of giving a direct answer. What I have concluded is that if you ride mostly solo almost any shock will be OK and the very best shocks will be a little better. If you ride 2-up a lot and especially if you value the comfort of your passenger, then the quality of shocks becomes much more important.
I spent ages looking into new shocks for my Glide, most of it on HDF. I concluded that some members have spent a lot of money trying several shocks before finding a top-end pair that worked well when the bike is fully loaded. I decided to cut out all the middle brands, save a lot of time and money and buy what seemed to me to be the best.
Like fabrik8r I also bought Ohlins #3-3 from Howard at Motorcycle Metal and for the first time I have shocks that do NOT bottom out when we are touring fully loaded. They are just great and far superior to anything I have used before.
