I've had a few sets of over-the-glasses goggles. But they were all lacking something.
This year I got a set of prescription goggles from Zenni.com model 702230. They're fantastic. I did a 3,000 mile trip with them and they were the only eyeware I used during the whole trip in all light conditions except night time. They were good in the rain and wind. And they cost $25 including the prescription.
Are they top of the line? No, but they're not cheap crap either. Are they a really good product for $25 - absolutely. It's worth having a look at the collection of goggles on their site.
I went to a local optician and bought a pair of WileyX X-17s. Had them do progessive lens along with Drive wear, which is like transitions but yellow to dark green. They cost about $225 with insurance, but I use them at work for safety glasses as they are Z17 approved. Employer reimburses $100 a pair on safety glasses, so I ended up with about 125 in them.
