I have spent 2 days emailing back and forth with Mark from Clearview Shields to make sure a shield I am ordering for our Ultra will fit ok with the Zumo 660 GPS mounted on the fairing. I ordered the 15.5" clear with the 5 position vent in it.
Mark has went out of his way to make sure it will clear and fit right. VERY few companies will even return emails these days it seems, so I wanted to post up with my personal first hand experience, and no I am in NO WAY related, know, or even ever heard of Clearview before finding them on this forum. Just wanted to share with everyone. You always hear about the places to avoid, but the good ones go silently by....
I'll post pics as a follow up to the thread once I get the new shield. Just ordered it a few minutes ago. Looking forward to that vent, last summer in 106* weather on the super slab was plenty warm, hopefully this will help a little.
Iwould be interested on your opinion of the vent. It sounds like a good option, but I hear that the ack pressure form air around the fairing kind of makes it useless.
Clearview offers a great quality product, competitively priced and provides outstanding customer service. Not many companies can deliver that combination. I've purchased two shields from them and I'm sure that I'll buy more in the future. I'm a fan...
Have one of there shields for several yrs now very well made and does what they say. My son bought one for his Softail Custom too. He had the HD one on it and they made him a shield that bolted to the HD mounts. Much much better than what he had. We will buy from them again.
