Default Cut out leather pieces

I was able to get 2 leather shoulders of different weights on sale at the Tandy Leather store, using the heavier weight leather for the 2 sides, everything else will be the lighter weight leather. Using only shoulder pieces I didnt have the length necessary to make the one long piece so it is going to be in 2 pieces with the seam at the bottom. The notches at the bottom of the side pieces are to allow it to sit on the bottom of the saddlebag instead of losing space due to the support bracket. Seems to be going well. I am ready to dye the leather and then start sewing.

Great Idea! I carry an old military issue canvas toolbag I snagged from the USAF. It is PACKED!! Ive got everything but a damn torque wrench in there. Id does however take up alot of room cause its basically square. Your bag will definetly solve that. One word of advice.........get a patent started on it.

Patents are only as good as your pockets are deep.....

No worry, very shallow pockets here. I was just interested in contributing the idea to the community. Giving back since I have gained so much from being a part of it.

Talked with Captain Itch, I will try sewing the first one myself but I have enough material to cut out another set for a road trip to visit Captain Itch and have him sew it up if necessary. Offered the pattern to him in case he wants to add it to his inventory if there is any interest.

Default Construction completed

Other than needing some more dye for a second coat and then a weather protection spray I believe I am done. Worked out to my satisfaction and fitted the items desired with no problems.
My finger tips are sore from sewing by hand for the last two days. The project is a little time consuming but for someone that just wants the basic bag it can be made in a weekend with effort.
Just wanted to share with the community.
