Anyone have experience with chromed wheels from "Chrome That HOG" in National City, CA? I'm putting chrome lower legs on my '09 FLTR and wanted to get away from the dull & black OEM wheels. These would do nicely to round-out the chrome front end:
They seemed to have a good reputation on Ebay. Any forum member experience with these guys?
Also, I'm an experienced wrencher, but never swapped-out wheels before. I was going to add new chrome rotors to the front & install new bearings. Any special tools or things I ought to know before jumping in to this?
I swapped my Fat Boy wheels for their chrome ones. They did a pretty good job, especially for the price. I also got the rotors and all the nuts/bolts for the wheel/rotor swap from them. Nice guy there and pretty good service.
I live near them, and I'm not ******* them per se. My buddy had his '06 Sporty Roadster's back wheel swapped out for a chrome one with them. The chroming was overdone in a couple spots making it hard to mount the rear rotor. Looked like the bearings were pressed in wrong.
This may have been a one off thing, other than that the chrome was great.
Thanks Spurrs & El Rey. With a 100% positive rating on Ebay from nearly 600 people, they sound pretty good. I've got an e-mail into them & I'm waiting for a reply. I'll be in San Diego the 2nd week of January & may stop in to check things out for myself.
