they come with a very powerful magnet that you place near the lens and it changes the settings of the microprocessor is all i can figure out. it's easy to do. the instructions are very clear with the procedure.
Thanks to Big Daddy Mike's post a while back I was able to buy my Bal for 20% off at Hampton Roads Harley. Ask for Kevin Weeks at 757-872-7223 or email him at kweeks@hrhd.com
I put the HD taillights and turn signal that operate as brake lights also on mine. I also put Custom Dynamics 96 led boards in my tour pak lights. I think Stevie Wonder can see me now.
I have the HD turn signal kit in my tour pak, if I could get the CD led tour pac lights to work with that my entire bike would be led, BAL started the ball rolling
My instruction sheets says that you can remove white/violet wire from the sleeve and connect to momentary +12 volts to change patterns. Every time +12 volts is applied and removed a new pattern will be selected. Let the light run the desired pattern for 8 seconds to store.
Are you guys bragging about the $200 or the $400 BAL? I'd love to buy one but have yet to see a video of the $200 on their web site.
The one my HD Dealer sells is $200 I ended up paying alot more because mine was a custom install, fell someware around $500 but I had other work done at the same time. Before I bought I seen the more expensive ones on their site. I don't know how or why you would want any brighter than the $200 light I purchased and I think most of these other guys bought the $200 from their HD dealers, but thats just an assumption. Go to your local HD Dealer and they will probably have a demo light sitting on their parts counter, go and check it out, then buy it!
I installed the $200 bal 1 two weeks ago and I cant imagine how the $400 will be.. my friends changed the name of my bike for blindmaker. trust me, the $200 one is all you need
When I got home today I had a voice mail from a friend who was behind me today telling me that my brake light was on all the time… it was so bright (riding this morning with some fog) that he thought the brake light was stuck and not going off. That says tons about the BAL. mine blinks the most annoying program when the brakes are applied. Like I said earlier, the first thing I did when I bought my new Road King Classic was to change the brake light to a BAL.
