I bought my Dunlop American elites from Jake Wilson for $263 for both. Free shipping and no tax. Bit I had them mounted at a shop for $45. I'm afraid to scratch my wheels. But I saved over $150 on the tires compared to the dealer

Dennis Kirk & Jake Wilson are the exact same price $111.99 & $152.99. The biggest difference would be which you live closer to, DK is MN & JW is UT. If you want to go through the trouble you can call DK & they will beat any price by a $1 per tire. I live in Iowa so it's a no brainer for me to use DK, there service has always been great. I think sometimes you can find discount coupons for JW, either has a good reputation.

I went to a Metzler 880 rear this past year after hearing from so many of my buddies who switched to them, and the luck they were having.

After close to 7500 miles of riding since, wear seems to be a lot less than the stock Dunlop had at that same mileage.

I also installed Dyna Beads...and that may be an even bigger factor in tire life and ride.

Until I see something else that performs better with my own eyes....I'm sticking with Metzlers

I installed the Metz 880 for this last set of tires and they seem to be wearing well. I have 5000 on the rear with plenty of meat left, I only have 1000 on the front so nothing to say about that at this point. I will say I can corner the bike much more aggressively with the Metz 880 compared to the stock 407/408 tires. I am interested in hearing wear reports on the new American Elites once they have been out long enough to go through a wear cycle (10,000+miles).

If you have a Dunlop on the front, can you use a Metzler on the rear?
