The one at Harbor Freight aint anything like the J&S. First of all there are too many bolts, and take a look at those bolts, they are not even hardened. The J&S is made from solid steel that is twice as thick as the Craftsman or the HF jacks, it is one hundred percent welded construction, and it actually fits all across the frame. These cheap ones shake like crazy, the J&S is solid, I mean like a rock. The deductible on my insurance is five hundred dollars, if I bought the 60 or 100 dollar jack and then dropped my bike I would be out 600 bucks, this way I am only out 300 and don't have to worry at all.
I said it was designed the same, not exactly the same, I had my SG up on it and it was
fairly solid, altho I wasn't going to climb on the bike while on the jack..
I watched the J&S video, looks kinda imposiable there was no movement, the one
I bought if you lower it onto the locks, it OK.. It has a rubber surface for the frame to sit
onto and it's about 4 inches wider than the width of the frame...
I have a welding rig and If I see the need for reinforcement, NO PROBLEM...
thing is, If I just used this one as a MODEL, and build one out of thicker stornger
material, I would still come out..
But if they pasted Harley Davidson on it.... I'M THERE!!!
I bought the Craftsman red model for $79.00. Works great though I wish there was better accessability to drain fluilds since the jack arms get in the way.
