Hey,
First time posting, I have read extensive post but now I need some infoe that I havent been able to search out.
I am upgrading a 04 Electra Glide from an 88 stock to a 98. I will be purchasing the 98 from a respectable dealer, GMR Performance over the next month or so.
I have the opertunity to purchase a Screamin Eagle Pro High Flow 58mm EFI Throttle Body P/N 27639-07 for an unbalivable price but I want to make certian it is usable on my 04 before I purchase. The seller says it will work if the IAC isrewired, simply switch pins A and C. Can anyone assist with any info on weather it will work or if it would be a waist of money. The upgrades I want to do would be even betterwith a new throtle body.
your motor isn't big enough to take advantage of that big of throttle body. it's kinda like the guy who puts a 750 holley double pumper on a stock 305" chevy expecting it's really going to make it a hot rod. it doesn't work that way. the throttle body doesn't push air/fuel into the motor. the motor pulls it in with negative pressure also known as vacuum, but i'm sure you already knew this. it's all about bernoullis principle and volumetric efficiency.
I would say that it has alot to do with your head work as well, but you would have to talk to gmr about what it is that you will need for your application. Not enough info given here.
