I just got a new FLHTK & didn't notice when I picked it up from the dealer that there was a painted yellow line, about 3/16 wide around the circumference of the tire about an 2 1/4 inches or so further out than the small white wall. Right about where the tire would make contact with the pavement if you really lean it into a corner. I called the dealer to ask why it was there & how to remove it. The service mgr. didn't no the reason for it but recommended using CRC Brakleen brake parts cleaner to remove it & said it wouldn't hurt the tire or create a slick spot. I tried it in a small spot & it did take the line off but I'm still worried about loosing traction like when using a side wall cleaner like armorall & the resulting crashes I've heard about other guys having.
Any experience or idea's with a problem like this???
I also put a call into CRCs tech. support but haven't heard back from them.
I don't like armor-all and it isn't a cleaner but I've never heard of anyone crashing because of using it on the tires either.
I use SOS pads or plain old cleanser on the tires. Cleans up the WW and will take off the stripe your wanting to get rid of. Brake cleaner is strong stuff, I don't use it on anything other than brakes.

A friend dumped his bike last year after his daughter did Daddy a favor by armor all'ing his tires all over. Boy was he pi$$ed. He had just finished getting it to where he wanted it too.
