Since I have only started riding my bike on the weekends, instead of everyday, mine does the same, but I just hold the switch until she fires up. Sometimes it is 1-2 seconds, sometimes almost 5 seconds. Once I ride for quite a while, she will fire up like normal. I am just assuming it is the battery, since it sits there all week, plus the drain of the security system. Unfortunately, I park under a cover in a parking lot, so I do not have the luxury of keeping a tender hooked up to her. I return to the states in a little over 6 months, I will start plugging a tender up then.
