I wash the engine with how ever you want I use the s100 or dawn dish soap, then I spray the winkle black area with silicone spray and the straw nozzle with a couple of coats, then detail the remainder of the engine and just let the silicone soak in and do not wipe it off or anything. The silicone does not collect dust like wd40 works really well you will be surprised. The ONE good bit of advice I got from the dealer really from the good parts guy at the dealer.

Default Armor-all

Well, I know you guys seem to have your mind made up about S100, which is a great product btw; however, I know you all have a bottle of armor-all sittin' on a shelf in your garage, and ya can go try it out right now. You'll like it fer sure. Report back.

Thumbs up pig spit

I use this stuff called PIG SPIT just before I wax my bike I spray it on the black wrinkle parts of motor in between the fins on the heads by the tranmission & rear cylinder dont worry about over spray. when you are wiping the wax off the bike wipe off any overspray on the chrome on the motor it will look as good or better than the day you took it home JOHN

I use WD40 and a soft tooth brush, a friend uses S100. I have noticed through out the years on our bikes my fins (the exposed aluminum edges) look like new and his has corrosion. I'm thinking the WD40 not only cleans and removes wax but also protects. As for dust collecting using WD40, lets be honest, the fins get dusty/dirty no matter what we use, that is why we clean them.

I've been using the S100 engine brightener and have been very happy with the product.
