When I hear boot strap. I think of the straps (or loops) at the tops of my boots that I use to pull them on.
But then I'm an old guy and not that familiar with all this new fangled crap.
on long rides when i know im gonna be up on the hwy pegs, i loop a big safty pin through my boot laces and then pen it through my pants on the inside. works like a charm.
If I'm wearing my lace-up boots, I'll wear the straps. If I am wearing my cowboy boots, I don't wear them because my jeans don't blow up. I made my own out of some elastic and some suspender clips. I have a pair of the Faarken that someone bought me as a gift after I already had the homemade ones. Both work just fine when needed.

Mine are not really straps, They are clips that fasten to the front of my boots and at a single point on the pants. Figured straps going under the boot would get wet and nasty or maybe hang up on something. I wear them because I am a middle age fart that wears loose pants to keep my boys from strangling. By the way, I also have assless chaps and they not only keep me warm but the old lady thinks they are a turn on
