I just installed the detachable tour pack kit, part # 53303-07. I really like the kit with the exception of two things. First, the license plate bracket is about the ugliest thing I have ever seen. I need to find a way to mount it under my tail light. Second, I was expecting some kind of quick disconnect wiring harness with the so called, "complete kit". Not only is it going to be a pain to rerun the wires every time I take off or reinstall the tour pack, I also do not like the idea of coiling the existing harness under the seat.
Anybody got solutions or ideas to these issues. Any help would be appreciated.
I used the light harness quick disconnect for the brake light/tail lights. I then raided the antenna pieces from the newer (09 and up) kit to make the AM/FM and CB antenna easy to disconnect. To mount those I used the mounting brackets for the frame mounts from the Road/Street Glide. It all looks factory and didn't require cutting much (only the light harness). If you want I can attach or send you some pictures. Good luck!

If you don't mind, please send em my way too. That's gonna be my next mod.
It may take me a bit to get the pics. The laptop seems to have had a melt down. I have to try and find if I have the pics anywhere else. If you do a stat search I had a thread where I posted a few pics of the brackets I used. Feel free to shot me a PM and I can give more in depth info on what I did if you wnat it. I will let you know as soon as I can get the pics to you.
