Default Having trouble finding neutral

Bike is 2 years old and 36 K miles. 2008 UC. Starting to have trouble finding
neutral. Is this most likely needing new clutch or is it needing a clutch adjustment?

Thanks

Just a clutch adjustment more than likely. I adjust mine every 5k when I do the oil and never have an issue.

probley your primary chain needs to be adjusted , thats the way mine acted or some oils will do that , did you change the type of oil you use in your primary, some bikes like different oil

Start with a clutch adjustment (inside the derby cover). I've found that the Cruise-Drive 6-speeds don't like ATF for fluid, so if you're using that try either Formula+ or Drag Specialties primary fluid.

Clutch adjustment (at the primary, not the cable).
Primary chain adjustment (too tight or too loose). Yes it's "supposed to be" automatic.
Fluid level (you'd be surprised how much this can effect finding neautral).
Type of fluid. (not likely the case here, but matters in some cases).

If you get all the above "spot on", you should be able to find neutral anytime you want and have a smooth shift in all gears.

Edit: Follow up on fluid level. You ain't one of those guys that just throws a quart in and forgets about it are you?
07 and up take more fluid than the old traditional quart.

Mine got better after I adjusted the clutch for more pull, and using the heel shifter helps to find neutral as well.

I had the same problem and fixed it by adjusting the actual shifter linkage. Just a couple of threads difference and it's smooth as glass into neutral now.

3k miles on an 07 in Florida? Sounds like you have trouble finding the bike, let alone neutral.....
