Default Help with pricing ...

I'd like a realistic assessment of what I can expect to be able to sell my bike for. There is not much listed within 250 miles of me on EBay, Craigslist, etc. Nada lists it between 9100 and 11200. I'd like to get somewhere in there, but would appreciate some advice on a starting price.

I have 43k miles and it has two years left on the extended service agreement and is transferrable. I still have the full saddlebag rails and will install them before I sell. Mods are Arlen Ness Big Sucker, SE II pipes, Power Commander 3 from Fuel Moto and various bits of chrome.I know these don't add value but may help sell the bike.

If you've sold or traded something similar lately that would be very helpful to know. If I had to guess the dealer will offer between 7k and 8k.

KBB in AL zip code territory shows $11250 retail value. Start by advertising at $12k and if someone comes along that thinks they are getting a deal, they'll take it. If not, work down to $10k

problem is finding someone with the $$$ - they are out there but most want to 'steal' the bike from you - depending how 'hungry' you are will tell you the price.. Craigs list is about the best going - just be ready for bottom feeders looking for a steal.. Best thing you have going is the extend warr. Thats a piece of Gold. Another way is to price it right and ride it to local HD and put a sign on it... Again, finding the person with cash is the problem and there are a lot of people under water with bikes wanting to dump them.. Good luck...

are you wanting to get another bike??

can you afford to have it sit till spring or summer??

post it here on the forum..

it is very cheap to sell on Ebay but may not bring what you want

I recently sold my 01 Classic here in Florida for $13,400, but it had over 20k in upgrades over the years, custom paint, wheels and motor work, stock Ultra and Classics were selling here from $8900 - $12,000 so my bike looked like a deal with all my extras, it sold in 3 days

Traded in an 09 Ultra, vivid black, stage 1, Klockwerks exhausts, new tires, and windshield, lot of chrome extras...had 19K on it. I got $18K on trade for a 2011 SESG. They sold my trade-in the same day I gave it to them.

Go to the website: www.chopperexchange.com as its a pretty good resource for buying/selling bikes.

I think the completed sales on ebay is a pretty good indicator. There might be a slight difference in price depending on locality, but it's not that much. Considering that you can ship a bike coast to coast for about 600 bucks, lots of guys don't restrict their search to their local area anymore.

Your bike is mostly stock, which sometimes is a good selling point, and it's easier to compare prices to other sales.

Decide on a selling price you can live with then advertise it for $1k higher. If you need to get $10k for it then advertise it for $11k. People like to talk you down and feel like they are getting a deal if you lower the price. If you advertise too high nobody will call.

I think your bike will bring $10k, as long as it's in good shape, but it may take some time to sell at that price, especially this time of year. Advertise it on the free sites and forums for now - you may get lucky. If it doesn't sell then get more aggressive in the Spring by advertising on the pay sites.
