11 K never. 8 K or less is more realistic. I just traded a 2007 RK Custom in mint condition with 13K miles for 11.5 K. I know trade in is less than out right sale but times are hard.
I think you could get 11. I sold a 94 EG Classic with 45K about 8 monthes ago for 8K. It had some motor work, upgraded stereo, etc., but no crazy mods.
Great responses ... thanks for the help so far and to any others that chime in. I will be looking for another bike probably a Street Glide or Road Glide. I love this bike but it is not "me" ... I don't have the time to ride long trips but I do like the bigger touring bike feel and if me and wife get a chance to cruise down to the beach then a SG or RG will be more than able.
After adding up all the cost of changes I wanted to make it just made sense to look at a newer bike with at least the color scheme I like ... not looking for a custom job but a factory quality basic paint job ain't free. There are alot of good deals on RG right now in the 2007-09 range, a little more for the SGs and I would be happy with the upgrade and not having the initial depreciation of a new one. This one is paid for and I do not want to saddle myself with much debt as I know even if the new one is what I want when I get it, it wont take long to start wanting more.
Take care and BTW, War Eagle!! Congrats to Auburn!!
Unless you REALLY have to have a new/different bike... Why not loose the tour pack - get a new seat - new wind shield - new paint - Now you have your street glide and saved your self a bunch of $$$$ - you could sell the tour pack and have $$ to play with. Lots of people here looking for a tour pack.
However, life is short - IF you want that new bike or just something different... get it...
