suspension issues
we drive a 2006 electra glide classic. my problem is the bike seems to "hit " hard sometimes while driving . my rear shocks are set at 30 lbs and my rear tire is at 36 lbs....any suggestions ?
By 'we' do you mean you ride 2-up? If you do it is quite common to suffer that problem. First I suggest your tyres are low on pressure. I run a lot more air than that when we are 2-up, above what the handbook says, to help both ride and handling. I reckon the handbook pressures for 2-up are too soft!
As for your shocks, I am not sure about your year. I eventually gave up on Harley air shocks and fitted custom-built Ohlins. Don't ever hit hard or bottom out now! Worth every penny.

You could try the 10W Amsoil fluid change in the stock shocks. It may not be the finest possible suspension upgrade, but it is a very noticeable improvement for the cost of a quart of fluid and a few hours of your time. Worked well for me til I could afford some premium shocks.
