Hey just wondering if any of you have a input on which is a good seat for my 09 Roadking I am only 5ft 7 and I have installed lowprofile shocks and still would like to be lower the reach seat looks pretty ugly to me so I am looking for maybe some thing else that would work out for me thx............GO CANUCKS GO ..........
I'm 5' 8" in height. I lowered my 2001 RK suspension front & rear. I origianlly replaced the stock seat with the HD Badlander. It worked fine until I hopped up the motor. The Badlander seat while keeping a low profile, does not have much contour from front to back. Because of this profile, it makes it very easy to slide to the back section of the seat when under hard excelleration. "VERY SPOOKY" I have since changed it out to a HD StreetGlide seat. Still a lower profile than the RK seat, but the seat has a defined pocket to keep my butt in place when I gun it. There are many other seats to choose from. This is just a small point to consider when choosing.

I took my seat to a shop to get a "nose job" and a shave. That made it more narrow which works for my 30" inseam. Cost me $200. I tried Mustang and Corbin seats but didn't get enough gain for the money. I went with a height-adjustable rear shock setup too so I can finally back my bike more easily.....GO FLYERS GO 8-)......
Have an upholstery shop shave yours at the neck area by the tank and lower it as well. OR get a 2011 RKC seat which is already modified by the MoCo in this manner. I did this (2011 seat) to solve the same inseam issue as you.
I just got a Corbin Dual Tourer delivered today. It sits a little lower than the RKC seat. The RKC seat has great positioning, but there is no distinct bucket area, and you tend to move around. I would find myself in a great position one minute, and then reaching for the bars another.
I too had my rear shocks replaced with the Progressives 940 , EXCELLENT SHOCK , expensive but worth it. I have tried all the HD seats and none have worked, so now I am sending my Sundowner seat to Mean City Cycles. They have it scheduled for 2/10 and from what I have heard about them it will get me down to the ground! I was going to get the front done with the Progressive lowering springs but I can not do that work and the dealer wanted $1180 to do it as there is 6.5 hours of work (2010 UC) ! I have found out you only gain about a 1/2" in the front being lowered , so I had to take a different approach to getting the bike lowered. I have a set of springs for sale if interested ?
I'm 6'0" and decided on a Mustang Solo. I was hoping that it might lower me a bit, but I really don't think it moved me much up or down at all from the OEM seat. I can easily flat foot the pavement and it is very comfy on long hauls. I've been very happy with it.
