Its funny in a way, I remember all the brew ha ha over the twin cams noisy valve train and motor noise, now no one even says a word about it except its NORMAL, this new 96 motor has over 700 different parts in it from the 88 and yes it will sound different, so what is normal noise? Only time will tell.

 

My 07 Ultra Classic makes the same noise on start up. I have to hold the starter just a bit longer than my 01 road king. Starts everytime though. Time will tell if this is a problem. Im not too worried though.

My Ultra sounds like something is coming out of the thing when it starts. It also pings below 65 in 6th gear. It has other noises that did not occur on my '05 Heritage. But I don't care. I'm not worried. I just ride the **** out of the thing. If it breaks, I'll get it fixed. If it breaks bad, I'll get another one. I like it. I'm glad I bought it. I'd buy it again. I don't care about noises, as long as it stays together.
