I am looking at getting the HD LED Signal Lights. The rear come in Smoke or Red. Since they come in Red, do they start acting as Run/Brake lights out of the box? Or is there a need to be a controller? I know the LED Fender Tip Light Upgrade comes as a plug-n-play Run/Brake Light, curious if these did as well.
I have heard that your assumption is correct. I want to do it also but I already have the brake/stop module. I probably have to rip that out and sell it.
They serve as Run/Brake out of the box. No load equalizer necessary. I like them. The signal lights have power in the acc. position of the ignition switch as well.
A tip: If you have access to a ball headed hex tool with a screw driver handle of the appropriate length, the install is very easy and quick. If not, it's going to be time consuming. If I knew then what I know now, I would have bought one.

Thanks for the info!! It is nice to have the bike wired for future mods.
I already had my rear turn signals converted to run/brake/signal and then converted my tour pack rear lights to run/brake/signal so I did the front turn signals as LED. Turned out really nice. I liked the fact that the run light intensity wasn't as bright as the stock 1156 bulb but 3x as bright when signalling.
