Angry starter bendix repair question

Starter Bendix just shot the wad.Can you repair the stater bendix,without pulling starter off bike????

Is this in your 09? Should be a warranty issue and you shouldn't have to worry about it.

You have to pull the starter and outer primary cover. It is an easy job tho or at least the one on my 04 was.

I replaced my stock one with this one and it is a little beefier.

It is really a simple job. The SM outlines it very well. It is one of the jobs that is pretty hard to mess up.

I am considering replacing my stock starter, after the 103" Stage II makes for a hard start, with a Spyke starter.

I COULD do the compression releases, but I think a better starter is the way to go. You don't put compression releases in a car when you bump up the compression.

I put one of the beefier starter drives from starterdrives.com on my wife's 03 Fatboy and was quite pleased with it.
