Default For Those with the Oasis Cover

My mom, bless her heart, really wants to get me a nice cover for my new bike. Since I bought my bike out of state at a dealer about an hour from her house, she and my stepdad did me a huge favor by doing a detailed inspection on the bike before I plunked down the cash. Fortunately, my stepdad restores Corvettes, so they weren't clueless. Needless to say, she was super excited to be part of the process, and I think getting me a cover will make her feel pretty good.

She is in no way internet savvy, so any purchase would be a local one for her. She saw some nice covers at the HD dealer when doing the inspection, so pretty much told me to pick one out and let her know which one I'd like. I have a garage at home, so I'm really wanting a half cover to mainly keep the sun/rain off the bike at work, and while doing overnighters. I like the HD Oasis for its ease, and looks. If I were spending my own money, I'd be going with the Nelson-Rigg UV2000.

So finally, my questions are:
It looks like the Oasis has cut outs or velcro for the dual antennas. True?

It says "water resistant." Anyone have any experience with the rain on it, or is only good for morning dew?

Does it keep the bike cool underneath, or will it still get baked?

If I do tell her to get me an Oasis, I plan on telling her to call the dealer first and see if she can get 15-20% off before driving over there. It might work, but if they won't do anything, I'll tell her to pass and I'll just order the UV2000. Unless someone here is looking to part with theirs

Thanks for the help.

I had an Oasis cover for my Road Glide and was really impressed with it. It didn't fit the Road Glide fairing very well, but it would be perfect for the Ultra Limited.

It's a perfect cover for carrying on the road because it's so small. It's a half-fairing so it doesn't offer complete weather protection, but it's great for keeping the dust and dew off the bike overnight, and when parked in a hotel parking lot helps keep wandering eyes off your equipment. I liked the way it kept the hot sun off the seat and metal when the bike was parked in an open lot.

It does have cut-outs for the antennas, but I don't remember if they are velcro flaps or just sewn slots. Looked like they would work well though.

I don't picture the cover as being totally waterproof, but I could be wrong. It's made of a soft nylon that seems porous. But seems like it would keep the bike from getting covered with dew overnight.

I actually have the Nelson-Rigg UV2000 and it's a good fit for the Road Glide (does not matter to you though). It's almost as small and light as the Oasis and offers better protection. It's 100% waterproof and squeezes into quite a small package. If you have the option, I think it might be a better choice for about the same money.

Thanks Pastor. The more I think about it, the more I feel I might just go with a UV2000. Mom could always make her contribution to another farkle. Any other opinions on the Oasis waterproofness?

I have one also, works well to keep the top of the bike dry. I like that you can put it on a hot bike/engine as soon as you get to a hotel. It is very easy to pack too.
