I am a bit confused... head pipes are those going from the cylinders to the crossed section right before the muffler pipes, correct?
If the only thing I want to do is to avoid the heat issues due to the cats, can I just buy those (the head pipes) and use the stock mufflers?
I use stock mufflers with the V&H Power Duals. Just a touch louder, less heat on feet and legs and gobs more power (well maybe a little).
I have also added a Arlen Ness Big Sucker and FL-Xied-10's.
Since you are talking about discontinuing the Jackpot 2/1 headpipes, I'm assuming they won't be available in the Ceramic Coated version?
We will no longer be offering 2/1 replacement head pipes, we are going to focus efforts on our new 2/1 complete system which will be released this spring.
The Jackpot headpipe is not stepped, we tested dozens of different primaries, steps and collectors, and our current design represents the best overall combination of Hp/Tq on motors making up to 125Hp. Stepped systems are designed primarily to make up for loss of exhaust velocity on large diameter primaries/collectors, and from the exhaust R&D we have done the collector design itself is far more critical for producing the best results in most combinations.
If you replace headpipes isn't that flat crossover to the left side still very restrictive? It doesn't look like much could flow through this stock crossover. At the flat area it sure does look very small. Thanks! Allyn

The stock crossover pipe is designed this way specifically to allow maximum exhaust convergence from the right hand outlet. The stock mufflers are also chambered differently left and right. Our Jackpot 2/1/2 head pipe uses this same principal however our design and merge collector flows and scavenges more efficiently
Will the stock heat shield fit the new 2/1 complete system?
