I'm finally the proud owner of a Harley after waiting more then twenty years. My 2005 Electra Glide Ultra was delivered and is in the garage waiting for spring. When they delivered it they showed me the security system and fob. We set the security system and now I can remember how to shut it off. I thought it would be as easy as hitting the button but the lock on the dash is still showing and when I try to turn on the ignition both blinkers blink.
I'm sure it's something simple but I sure could use some instruction. The dealership isn't open yet to ask.

First, the two posters before me, you both have the newer system that's brainless! Vt Rider and me have the ancient fob you have to click!
Vt Rider, with your key fob you double-click it. Just like a computer mouse! Double click it, the red sec. light should stop flashing. Hold down the button to arm the system, double click to dis-arm.
Also, buy the service manual from your dealer, $60, worth every penny.
Push the button on the fob twice quickly and it will turn off. The signals lights will flash when it turns on and off. Once to turn it on, twice to turn it off. If it is not working try replacing the battery in the fob. Pry it open with a small screwdriver.
As stated above, push the button on the fob twice quickly and it will turn off. The Smart Security System with automatic arming/disarming was not available in 2005.
Thank you all for the input. Double clicking worked. I think I'll look for an owners manual as suggested.
Find a Part Catalog for your year too. It will help with the pictures and location of parts if you want to change or add them. It is always good to have part numbers when talking to the Stealer Part counter personnel. It also helps when looking at After Market books.
It can be a pain but the two clicks have to be timed just right to work. I had the same problem and I had the manual it was just that touchy with the timing of the clicks.
