Default Clutch Cable Help

After months of reading all the great posts on this forum for tips and advice I finally ran into a problem that I can't solve. I just installed Wild 1 18" apes on my 2009 Road King. Got everything from Johnny Vaughn and put it on myself. I thought the hardest part was going to be working with the ABS (it was tough enough), but my dilemma is with the clutch cable. Everything is installed fine and working, but when I took it out today for a good test ride, I found the clutch cable sheathing is all frayed where the clip is! I have the cable secured to the downtube with a couple of ties, but I can't figure out a good way to secure the handlebar end of the cable....any suggestions? I'm assuming I'm screwed on the frayed cable, so I'm just going to try to wrap it and hope for the best...I think it was rubbing on the edge of the wonderful HD chrome clamp I purchased...what a waste.

I know exactly what you mean. I have the same issue. Mine is messed up by the wonderful chrome clamp that is on the side of the forks. I have noticed many are re-routing it up through the head lamp nachelle and out where the bars attach. Haven't made time to try this out. It ends up looking like the brake line except on the left side. I think they are putting zip ties high on the frame downtubes but I haven't found any pictures yet. I have read that the cable doesn't move as much. Let me know if you hear of anything.
