Default Jiffy spring EZ 2 replace

Bike pushin 30K figured I put a new spring on. Read here how to replace: bike on jack, loosen top bolt enough to swing stand forward, R&R. Took about 2 minutes, also put the old one in my saddlebag, if I don't need it somebody on the road might. Good info on here!!

Now ya see, this is one of the reasons I like this forum. Never woulda thought about the spring failing in the jiffy stand - but I guess if it does, you're in a load of poop, aren't you? What would you do - lean the thing over on the crash bar?

Going to get me a new spring as soon as I get over this stinking KIDNEY STONE. Thanks, DPete.

The spring just holds the kickstand up. When they wear out it won,t stay up.

it's another reason to keep a couple of zip ties in your tool kit, just in case.

If it breaks on the road and you don't have tools to replace, grab a new spring from a dealer and give them $10 for a roll of dimes. Take the dimes and slip a dime in between each spring coil. It will stretch it to where you can hook both ends on.

i always keep an extra in the bag. used to have my front lowered too much and was always catching the spring and stretching it out. aftermarket makes a small clamp on piece that attaches to the frame. if you break or stretch your spring to where it wont stay up, the aftermarket piece will hold the stand up while you ride..
