That's great but could you design something like this that fits recessed and is tucked up in the frame of the bike?
I wished I could, but... time and money and a shop, etc. etc, etc,,
Yep, sure could if that was my goal. Most of the products that actually work, were built by average everyday people looking for a solution to a problem with their own bike, to include the Oil Bud. Read "About Us" at the Oil Bud site where your picture came from.
hey 2black1's, how many miles do you have on your new bike? the reason i ask is because i noticed a substantial drop in operating temperature when my streetglide hit 4500 to five thousand miles. this might be something to consider. when they're new they do radiate a lot of heat which is a good thing. after all, they're air cooled motors. i couldn't believe how many people were complaining with the heat when the new twin cams came out. most of it is due to the fact that the twin cam motor is so much better at radiating heat from the engine than the evo's that went before it.

4,300. I didn't do this exclusively for the heat I feel from the engine. I did it simply because I believe a cooler running engine will last longer and every little bit helps.
I'll get it started. Wouldn't it be just as easy to put a liquid cooled v-rod engine in the bikes? Oil coolers, Fans, exhaust, cylinder shut down, tank lifts all in the name of cooling the engine that runs hotter every year with the emission regs. Where does it end?
My latest project, just finished today, is an attempt to provide maximum cooling for my 2011 Limited 103 next summer, especially when sitting in traffic.
Finally, I relocated the horn. The fan kit from Lenale includes hardware to relocate the horn to one of the frame front downtubes but in my opinion it really looks quite out-of-place there, so I did my own custom relocation right below the left side cover between the primary case and the exhaust. This was the most labor intensive part of the job. It took me all day to make the bracket, but Im pretty happy with the way it came out.

Any pictures of the bracket for the relocated horn?
Looking for some sort of small project. And thins might be it. I reall like to horn placement. Didnt happen to take a pic of the bracket before ya put the horn on did ya? And the plug....do you just buy the mating one at HD dealer I guess?

Yeah I do have a few pics. The bracket was formed from 20 gauge (.0359) sheet metal. It needs to be formed such that it hugs the frame rails and the side cover lower grommet pretty tightly so the side cover will fit without interference. And yes the mating accesory plug is available from HD. Have fun!

Hey, thanks so much for posting your pics. Like your set up much mire than on the downtubes. Guees I'll head over to the sheet metal place, grab me a hunk and git er done. Thanks again for your idea.
