The stud plates and nuts will run about $25; ;you'll also need the 91140-04 bracket to replace the chrome/rubber bumper on your bike.
Good luck with your project.
Carl
Thanks Carl,
I'm good. Everything is on order. I will get the nuts at a local hardware store. I just ordered the facia and the stud strips. I already have the bracket on the back as I have removed the bumper already. I guess the only thing I am needing is the part # for the emblem that is center rear on the fender. I scored a great deal on a SG rear fender but it does not have the emblem on it. I am thinking it is #15 on the fiche but no # is listed. Anyway, thats where I am. Since I am changing the whole fender I will put everything together and then just swap fenders.
The black plastic stick on disc used on the SG to cover the bolt head is p/n 59581-05. If you license plate is not mounted below the tail light, HD offers the cloisonnes/covers used on the Road Glide and Road King Custom; p/n's 59021-04 (shaped like a tombstone), and 59063-04.
Not sure what all you guys are using but a friend of mine who closed his shop a few years ago gave me a set of filler panels. The box was marked for mid 80's -92 FLH's etc. At the time I had a 92 Ultra Classic but just never got around to painting them and putting them on.I got to thinking about putting them on my 98 Road King this winter and everything lined right up.With the exception of making a small notch on each to clear an area for the quick release luggage rack bracket and a few shims they bolted right up to the chrome brackets running down the sides of the fender. Those 2 brackets have 2 threaded holes in them and these bolted right to them. I just sanded, prepped and because I have a Classic with the leather bags,I used satin black and they blend in nicely. I can get them closer to the fender or visa versa just by adjusting and I'm taking them off when I remove the rear tire and doing a better prep and paint on them, just wanted to see how they looked.
Here's a few pics, not the best, the bike is filthy from last week's ride so excuse the "dirt"......oh and don't bother to comment on the bald tire!New one is ready to be installed!!
