Just bought a 2007 FHLP police bike with 38,000 miles. Runs great however twice in the last four days it has stalled coming to a stop. Hit the starter, it starts and runs perfect. If it was a fuel filter I would think that it would stutter or stall on hard excelleration but it excellerates great. Any ideas? I do plan on changing the filter when they get them back in stock. Is the fuel press. reg. noted for any problems? Suggestions are welcomed. Thanks in advance.
Could be a lot of things. Since you just got it it could be just bad gas. Give it a few tank fulls. It's probably something simple but the filter if stopped up will affect idle before you can tell it top end. Why I say this take this just for an example. Bike will do 110 with wide open throttle up a steep hill. Now with the fuel filter half stopped up it will only do 101. However at idle the fuel amount is very little with an FI and it will indeed affect idle. Were it starts I do not know. I doubt its the filter since most all pump gas is filtered now days. At idle everthing, wires, plugs, filters need to be right,

the 98 or 99 uses a m&m ecm think it mareelia magneti or some thing like that, they also have idol issuies, but for some reason, probably the first yaer of epa and 96inches and 02 sensors, harley didnt get it just right for a year or 2 think a few 08"s have some of the same problems but more on 07.
I had an 07 RK Police bike last summer with exactly 38,000 miles that did the same thing. After several trips to the shop and working with Harley it ended up being the Plug In to the MAP sensor. The MAP sensor was changed during the second trip to the shop but it was the plug in to the MAP sensor that was the problem. Finding this after changing a varity of parts first of course. The problem the dealer had was the bike would not give them a code to tell them what was wrong. Good luck and I hope your problem is not the same as the one I had. This problem took all summer to find and I could only put 2000 miles on the bike all summer, it took 4 trips to the shop and spent 6 or 7 weeks in the shop all together before they found it.
