There riser would not fit under my 2009 Riser cover. I went on EBay and bought one off an older Road King.

If it helps anyone recommending which size bars between the 14's or the 16's I am 5'10-5'11, 235 pounds, 32" inseam, and my wingspan is 75".

Thanks

I am 6' with the same 32" inseam and have the 16" Flying Apes. I have sat on a bike with 16" Gangster Apes as well. Honestly, there isn't a lot of difference between the two as you can roll the bars forward and back as needed. It's really a personal preference issue -- do you like the style of bars that bends away from you or toward you? The Flying Apes that are 16" are really 17.5" and are just a tad above my shoulders on my softail. I don't think the Gangsters run that big of a difference over the stated height. I see a lot more of the Gangsters than the Flying Apes which is one of the reasons that I went with the Flying Apes. SJ Ron

This an old thread but I'll take a shot. Cruzomatic what size gangsters are they? I'm torn between 14 or 16 as well as flying vs gangster vs factory 47 vicla.

Those look like 12"s or maybe 14''s on a 1" risers.

If you have short arms say under 34" sleeve length or under 5'10" in height those would both be fine. (I'm 5'11" 35" sleeve length in a dress shirt).

I started my own Ape procession over the years to find the perfect fit as I changed bikes: 10" Wild 1 > 12" Yaffee > 14" Yaffee > 16" Vindikta (perfect).

My brother went 16" Carlini Flying Apes and got it right the first time. Man Carlini bars are sweet and worth every penny.

So my advice is do it once and do it right so you be happy with the finished product.

Most bar swaps look good but Carlini is in a league of their own and folks do notice and ask a lot of questions as they stand out in the crowd..

Man were about the same size. I was originally going to get carlini 14's with the gangster apes. Went with 16's and absolutely love them!!! Do the 16's. You'll be happier!!! They look better too!

Thanks for the replys. I lucked out this week. Friend of mine mtn bikes with a guy who has 14 gangsters on a fatbob. That same friend has 16 apes on a fatboy that I rode a few weeks ago for a couple hours and loved em. Was just nervous the gangsters would have me reaching to far forward. After having a look and getting a feel of the 14" gangsters I'm pretty well sold on the 16 gangster apes. Loved the look of em in person. Here's what my bike looks like now. 12" 1" bar apes.
