I haven't seen a thread comparing both of these bars, so I would like some feedback from those who have either or, but preferably those whom have had experience with both. I have narrowed my handlebar selection down to these two sets of bars, and in either 14" or 16". These are the last two decisions, I need to make. I have sat on bikes locally with the gangster ape's but no one I know has the flying ape's. If it helps anyone recommending which size bars between the 14's or the 16's I am 5'10-5'11, 235 pounds, 32" inseam, and my wingspan is 75".
Just installed these gangsta 16's 1.5 thick. have no riding experince but like the feel and the look. actually just pulled the bars back about an inch more then in the picture so i was reaching for the bars.

Nice looking bike, were there any fitment issue's with the 1.5" thick bars VS the 1.25"?
to run 1.5's you gotta buy new riser mount for the thick bars.
then the cover for your risers has to be from 07 or earlier.
i bought the earlier cover and it was still a tight fit over the new risers and bars but it worked. i didnt notice til after my purchase of the bars that the 1.5's are wider then the 1.25. the 1.25 would of been more like my chubbys that i had on before

Thanks for the feedback. Still on the fence, the gangster apes are wider, but the flying ape's have more pullback, I take a lot of long trips so trying to figure out which would be more comfortable, my bike isn't just a bar hopper.
hawkeye85, did you get the riser mount from Carlini? I just bought 14" flying apes for 1.5" for my 09 RKC and was told by them that it would fit under my stock cover. any info? Thanks, Scott
