Default help with the triple tree

i am building a street glide and need a new lower triple tree. does anyone know where i can get one other than the dealership? if i find one on craigslist or ebay do i need to worry about the vin number? once i get everything back together i will have to go to CHP for a vin verification to register it so i want to make sure everything they are going to check is legit before i buy a used part. thanks

What happened to your old lower triple tree?

Also, no VIN number on the tree that I am aware of.

Do keep us informed on your progress as I want to attempt to build my own touring in the future. For me though, I need to start with a straight and true 2007 or above touring frame since I want to use a SE120R engine.

i know there is a number stamped on the lower triple tree could that just be a part number?
i just recently went through a forclosure on my house and had to move pretty quickly. a lot of my parts were in boxes that some how (never believ your wife when she says yes the all the boxes where put in the truck) got left behind. by the time i realized i was missing a couple boxes it was too late, the bank hired some guys to go in and clean up the place and the said "they never saw the boxes".
