never thought about the fine, but i just didnt want to have oil spraying along the bottom of my bike, and on the back tire. i ride like an idiot most of the time, and dont need to induce my own oil slick......

Yes, and I doubt any one has ever paid it. Like night and day difference if I run mine over 4K much or drive 70 which I seldom do. As far as my bike goes as long as I do not over fill it oil level has no influence on it since the oil punp is two stage and the return is 20% larger.

That's actually a pretty good point. On my last bike I vented down to the frame. I lost the oil pump while doing about 70 on the highway. Oil all over and got a bit sideways.
Dirt bike riding skills probably saved me.

I ran my vent hoses to a small clear container. Surprising how much condensation ends up in the container.
