Just swapped out my stock RKC bars for the Heritage bars. Big difference from stock and no changes to any cables were necessary. Now wait for spring.

I had a '10 Road King and put Heritage Style bars (not Heritage bars) on it. Made all the difference. They are a great bar - can ride all day long and no back problems.

I just came frome the Dealership and the Parts guy[which I don't care for very much] told me that I would have to have cable extensions for throttle and a new brake line and two bolts. The bolts were 4bucks a piece. 89 bucks for extensions and 40 something for the brake line. With the dealer install around $325. I don't know if he is bullshitting me or not.

The first of my minor mods thus far to my bike were the Heritage style bars. I am not happy with them. They'e much better than stock in the sense that they're taller, but "for me" the bars are way too narrow and give me an uncomfortable wrist angle. I ordered Carlini 17" Evil Apes which should be here Thursday and hopefully I can get them on Saturday as planned with a buddy of mine. I'm 5'11, 32" inseam, and my wingspan is 75" from middle finger to middle finger if that helps any. I have been researching bars for a LONG time, but once my bars come off I will be listing them for another forum member to try something different than stock on the cheap. The heritage style bars are too narrow for me and have too much pullback. We did NOT have to change anything on my bike for the "heritage style" bars. For the Carlini's it will be a different story.

Just my $0.02

I had the heritage bars on my fatboy for awhile and they were not that comfortable to me, It felt like my wrist were twisted and on long rides my hand would go numb. I recently installed a set of 14" apes and could not be more happy with the comfort. Here are the before and after pics.
