Hello; Can anyone tell me exactly how much oil the 2010 fairing models hold after the level is adjusted (according to the factory manual). I know it's 10.9 ozs starting out.
OK I know that. BUT the service manual on the 10's says to put the guage on the fork tube and set it for the depth on the same chart you showed me and withdraw some back out. What I am looking for us the FINAL amount (in ozs), left in the fork tube. Has anybody measured this. I removed the forks, pumped and drained them, put in the Progressive fork lowering kit and put in 10.8 ozs of oil. Reinstalled the forks and have hardly no fork action. Feels like there is wayyyy to much fork oil in them.

It would be different for every application depending on how much residual stayed in.
Put in what you took out. I also believe I read somewhere that it was 10.8 for an UC, but I would have to go out and grab my service manual to see though.
Similar thing happened to me. I added the recommended amount of fork oil in the manual with the drop in kit and intiminators and its pretty stiff. Not rock solid but stiff. Since its only got 5 weight oil for the intiminators I think the level is a bit high. We did the same setup on a friends bike but used about 1/2 ounce less oil. His is perfect. Forks were completely disassembled and cleaned in both cases. I am going to pull out about 10cc's (about 1/3 oz) at a time this weekend until I get it tuned perfect.
OK.... took the front end down again, and followed the service manual exactly. The actual number of ounces left in is................9.5
It's very important to follow the service manual exactly, as the 09's - 10's and possibly 11's have a damper valve that can trap air and prevent full suspension travel. Remember, the 08's and older use a slightly different procedure, than the 09's and up.
