Default Screaming Eagle 103 kit or 107 kit from Rosa's Cycle?

Im a bit confused as to my options here. I can either get screaming eagle 103 jugs, and the 27544-10A with the SE-259 cams and screaming eagle heads or get aftermarket jugs, forged cylinders, cams, pushrods, gasket kit, full head job on my heads, dyno tune and new throttle body. The aftermarket from Rosa's cycles will cost me out the door $3500 with a a probable dyno tune of 105-110 horses and 120 pft . Of course if i went with screaming eagle and a new throttle body i would be over $3500.

Anyway im totally confused

if i go with a 107 kit is there a point to go with a bigger throttle body. The guy at Rosa's cycles said that if i dont get one it will cause a bottle neck as he put it

I was in the same boat as you until I stopped at Rosas and spoke to Andrew and he sat down and gave me info on his 107 kit. He explained what he was going to do and what parts he was going to use. I have never heard a bad thing about Rosas so when my HD warranty is up I will make an appointment this winter. Oh and the cost should be Approx. $3600 parts labor dyno. Average power on his 107 kit is 102hp/110tq and with my thunderheaders Screamin Eagle Heavy breather and power commander I have on it now it should be even more.

There is no substitute to giving a local guy your business, especially if he gives you a good feeling. But I would go back and ask him to explain in more detail what he is going to do. If your bike is the dresser in your avatar you will be better off with a wide torque curve with not too much emphasis on power. If that is what he intends I suggest you get on with it!

After going back and forth I wound up getting the 103 screamin eagle kit from Harley back in 2011. And after going back and forth these last two weeks Andrew from Rosa's is doing a 117 this week on the bike. We are using Woods TW-9B-6 cams with a 630 lift. S&S flywheel assembly, and other parts that came off my bike with the screamin eagle kit. And a new clutch. Im providing the pistons and cylinders. Cost is $4200 which includes a TTS tune. I cant wait to ride this new puppy. My screamin eagle 103 stage IV was pushing 108hp and 112 torque. Im curious what this one will push
