Looking for a mount for my Iphone. Hell's foundry makes the dashlink. Any thoughts on this, love the fact it charges phone at same time and no wires to plug everytime I get on the bike. Cost is a bit much. Any suggestions/ advice?
I kept it simple. I bought an IPod mini a case with a clip on the back and aux cord and secure it to my fairing pouch so it is exposed. It provides me with easy access to change songs and volume.
Does anyone make a mount that that has an adjustable clamp that will hold an iphone WITH tge case still on it? All the mounts I have found require you to remove the case in order to attach it to the mount. I don't know many iphone users that don't keep their phone in a case and it's a pain to have to remove the case everytime you want to mount it to your bike.
Here is my setup. Won't fit on my new bike. it charges and links into the aux.Make me an offer and it's yours

I was also concerned about how to take care of my iPod and decided on a different route. Instead of a mount for the iPod, I, instead went with a Bluetooth receiver to link the iPod to the radio.
I use a handsfree unit from Scosche called the "Motor Mouth II". It plugs into the AUX jack on the front of the radio and links via Bluetooth to the iPod (or cell phone, etc.) and streams audio to the radio. I then can put the iPod in my pocket (out of the weather) and it just plays whatever songs I set in my playlist. The drawback is that I can't easily change songs but heck, I couldn't do that anyway with gloves on.
It works really well - I walked about 20-25 feet away from the bike and maintained the Bluetooth link. By the way, the Motor Mouth unit is rechargeable via the cigarette lighter plug if needed.
Not exactly what you were looking for but worked well for me.
I use a Ram Mount with a short arm. I like the iPhone mounted at dash level as I use it for as a GPS also. Keeps my eyes close to the road. Quicker than looking at the radio. Wired a Griffin 12v connector that also has a line level out on it to the inside of the dash. One wire goes to the aux in and one goes to the Ram Mount. I think it looks very clean, is very functional and was cheap to install. I think the Ram Mount was about $30 total and the Griffin connector was about $35.
While the Hells Foundry is clean, I don't like the idea of having to look that far down.
