Always liked the look of white bikes. I retired 3 years ago and was looking for a white Harley. Saw this bike on Ebay. It was a retired police bike and I was a retired LEO. I thought it was ment to be. 1996 FLHP, what a great bike. In November I traded for a 2006 EG in fire red pearl. Ride safe.
yes it did but it was a Batwing Fairing. Does your bike ride low also? I do love that combo, NICE!
Thanks for the comment.
I'm 5'6" / 160lbs and have had issues with Street Glides and an FLHTCU regarding height. I put on 1" shorter than stock air rides, use the stock seat, and I wear a pair of thick bottomed riding boots. It's the perfect height for me.
There's an Indy mechanic in the area I know real well and he spent the fall rebuilding an '86 with the batwing, and he also owns an '86 with the batwing ... both of them are the same white / gold w/ red pinstripe color combination.
Over the summer I spotted the one he was rebuilding at the Bikes on the Bricks rally in Flint. We were the only two white bikes out of hundreds that were there.
"Very" nice looking ride, Johnny! I know many round here jokingly (or not) call them fugly but I've always liked the look, especially on an older model bike that's obviously been well taken care of.
My Ultra is the first bike I've ridden "without" a frame mounted fairing since the mid to late 70's. I was grinnin' ear to ear the first time I rode it after dark as it was the first time in "years" that I had the headlight follow the handlebars. It actually took a little while to get used to, kind of like the first time I rode a frame mount fairing after dark, only the other way around!
When I was buying my 02 Road King Classic, my first choice was white. I didn't get the white deal put together, but I did get the black deal put together...so I have a black 02 RKC.
Glad you could swing the black one. Not everyone can afford the white bikes !!
I am looking for a SG after selling my ULTRA, every Dealership I have been in has had a Denim White Street Glide ! I mean not 1 ALL OF THEM!
It is a Great color and in the sun almost blinding from the metalics. It is the easy color to keep clean and looks clean the longest which is great. But I am still holding off getting it because of friends telling me I will look like a Cop going down the road? LOL! They are really busting my Butt , but I do like a couple of colors Denim Black being the other ? Tough choices for a confused mind ,I like White
Had a 2008 white gold pearl. Sold. Waiting on a white hot demon SG. Still think white looks classy on a touring bike. Not Many around in white here. Black dominates but white rocks !
I know what you mean about the fairing. I've ridden bikes that just the bars turn and you couldn't even see the front wheel (Yamaha Venture). Throws your whole perspective off. That's why I don't mind the Sharknose fairing, the instrument cluster turns and for me, I can get a good perspective.
I rented a S/G and the handle bars seemed off balanced as you turned with the windshield and the entire instrument cluster moving. I got used to it quickly.
white bike and a headlight modulator has always let me pass on the highway and everyone thinks its a LEO..... kind of funny when it happens...
anyone with White Hot Demin experience on cleaning and waxing suggestions ? some say you cant wax a demin bike... its nice to be able to put a layer of wax to wipe bugs off easier.. any suggestions ?
