Default Gps Install

I need to install a garmin nuvi on my 04 road king Whats the best way to wire it up?
Do you.go direct to the battery or is there a better place to get power.I was thinking of putting a ram mount on the handle bars, any info on that. Thanks for your help.

I have a Garmin Zumo 660 which came with the motorcycle mount. I ran the wires under the gas tank and hooked in to the battery. You will love the ram mount. I have the one that goes under the mirror. It put the gps out of the way of the gauges and did not crowd the left side of the handlebars.

there is an accesory plugg under the seat that is controled by the switch on the left side of the naccele.it has 4 small holes that accept duetch conectors,u can use crimp on male duetch for about 10cents apiece or but the harley harness for about 12 $.

I have an 06 Road King Custom and this is what I did for power.

and use one of these mounts:

That way not too noticable when not in use.

Haven't used it yet though, put it together this winter.
