Default Average cost for painted inner fairing?

Local painter quoted me $400 to paint the inner fairing pieces on my Roadglide, if I removed everything from the bike and just delivered the bare parts to him. I have absolutely no issue taking the pieces off, but his price seemd a little high to me. What is everyone else paying just to have their fairings painted? I think I need to shop around a little more.

To some painters they are real proud of their work and $400.00 seems like the top end of the scale. I would expect a perfect job.

I went with a painter that did my Street Glide for $250.00 and was happy. But it is your stuff and go with someone you trust then talk the cost.

The ranges I've seen are $150-450 depending on painter and paint color. Lucky me the Red Hot Sunglo seems to be one of the expensive colors to get shot.

all reds are the most expensive cuz of the pigment in red paint i charge $400.00 for any inner and outter fairing. u have the cost of the base coat which averages out from $40.00 to $80.00 per pint but that depends on the brand.then u have the paint reducer to reduce the paint then the clear coat. and then u need the hardner for the clear and then the plastic primer so its not cheap some guys will do it for alot less but then u get what u pay for.

Material isn't cheap and to get a true professional job the painter is going to use quality material. Not to mention, if he's doing this commercially there's the added time of logging VOC's, clean up, cost of running a booth, etc. Last thing he wants is for you to come back with a problem.

I'd shop around a little more, price seems on the high side with you doing the removal and install. Is it a single color?
